Abstract:

Objective: Vitamin D deficiency in pregnancies is high. There are some studies that show that vitamin D deficiency is associated with gestational diabetes. Our goal is to determine whether pregnancies have a relationship between vitamin D levels and gestational diabetes. Method and Tool: The retrospective planed study scanned 317 pregnancy files between July 2018 and January 2020. Both in the second trimester, the level of vitamin D was considered and the oral glucose tolerance test was conducted and included in the 190 pregnancy study. Results: The average level of vitamin D for all pregnancies in the study was 14.40 ± 7.20. With regard to the levels of vitamin D in pregnancies, 15.36 ± 7.13 of those who have not been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, 13.52 ± 6.81 of those who have been diagnosed with deficient glucose tolerance, and 10.09 ± 6.14 of those who have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. In comparison with pregnancies with gestational diabetes and non-gravity, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference between the levels of vitamin D (p<0,05). The levels of vitamin D in gestational diabetic pregnancies were significantly low and the levels of vitamin D were observed at the level of deficiency. Discussions and Results: Our study found that there was a statistically meaningful relationship between vitamin D deficiency and gestational diabetes in pregnant women.
