Abstract:

In this study, it is intended to determine the structural and existing conditions of the milk farming enterprises of İzmir or Kiraz district. For this purpose, a simple random sampling method was carried out by face-to-face consultation with 55 cultivators in the center of Kiraz district; the survey work was carried out with information about themselves and their’s structural characteristics. In the results obtained, the demographic characteristics such as the business owners’ experience in gender, age, education, dairy livestock, the existing animal presence of the enterprises, the productive characteristics of the cultivated animals, the preferences of artificial seed, the characteristics of the trees and the land conditions, and the production characteristics such as the significant expenditure pen and the satisfaction levels of the enterprises in dairy livestock were determined. According to the survey, 89.1% of farmers were men, while 36.3% of age groups were between 35 and 45 years of age and 32.7% between 45 and 55 years of age. The percentage of farmers with 20 years or more experience in dairy farming was 50.9%. The total number of livestock found in semi-open trees was concentrated between 11-25 and 26-50 and the daily milk production per cow varied between 21-30 liters in 65,5 percent of. In the light of the data obtained, the newly established enterprises in the area will help to improve the existing enterprises due to competition, as well as these data will be available in areas such as market creation, milk processing and the increase in profitability and the possibility for the regional development of livestock enterprises.
