Abstract:

Religion tourism is one of the ancient forms of tourism in human history. The person visits various centers of faith with the desire to find spiritual satisfaction, inner peace. There are some factors that drive people to experience such an experience. This study aims to understand the factors that lead people to religious tourism, to identify the Eastern Black Sea region in terms of religious tourism and to present suggestions to contribute to policies aimed at increasing the potential of religious tourism in the Eastern Black Sea. The Eastern Black Sea area has been used as a settlement since the early ages. The Eastern Black Sea, which in this regard hosts many beliefs and cultures, also hosts many works of these cultures and beliefs. In this regard, it can be said that the Black Sea region has a significant potential of religious tourism in terms of various beliefs and cultures. In addition to its unique natural beauty, this region, which houses works of historical, artistic and mystical value, needs some policies to be developed in order to become an important centre of tourism in the future. First of all, the restoration of works that are important in the East Black Sea region in terms of tourism can be said as a critical step in accordance with the principles of the important ones. Because once made investment will ensure a long-term increase in visitors if satisfaction is provided. It is also important to promote the abundance of tourism supplies. The effective use of the Internet, a mass communication tool, in the promotion of this region, the preparation of pages in different languages, the organization of events to the representatives of foreign and domestic important tourism agencies to promote the region can be said to be important in terms of increasing the potential of the region's faith tourism.
