Abstract:

Laboratory Animal Breeding and Experimental Research Center was called first “Laboratory Animal Breeding and Experimental Medical Research Unit” which were presented to researchers in 1990. "Experimental Animal Practice and Ethics Course" for the training of our researchers was organized for the first time in June of 2006. The courses of 24 hours were made until 2009. The courses of 80 hours were made in 2009 due to the Turkish Republic of Forestry and Water Affairs Ministry’s arrangements. The aim of these courses were, to increase the capability of the investigaters in scientific research, health services administration and education as well as the basic events, to use methods and materials related to ethical standards and ethical principles. 1136 participants were trained and awarded certificates in these courses which was organized by our center, the priority of occupational distribution were identified respectivley, School of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry and Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science with a lesser extent of Veterinary Medicine. In this study, we aim to investigate objectives of Experimental Animal Practice and Ethics Course and occupational distribution of trainees who participated in these courses from 2006 until now. In conclusion, the variety of scientific research in the field of medicine, the quality and the increase in its contribution of human and animal health has been determined.
