Amaç: Bu çalışma Isparta ilinde tarımsal faaliyette bulunan genç çiftçilerin çiftçilik özelliklerinin ve çiftçilik yapma eğilimlerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Tasarım/metodoloji /yaklaşım: Çalışmanın ana materyali 18-40 yaş aralığında 110 genç çiftçi ile yüz yüze anket çalışması yapılarak elde edilmiştir. Veriler, bitkisel ve hayvansal üretimi birlikte yapan genç çiftçiler (40 çiftçi) ve yalnızca bitkisel üretim yapan genç çiftçiler (70 çiftçi) olmak üzere iki gruba ayrılarak analiz edilmiştir. Gruplar arasındaki farklılığı analiz etmek için ki-kare testi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Analiz sonuçları göstermiştir ki genç çiftçilerin ikamet ettikleri yer (köy, ilçe merkezi ve il merkezi), çiftçi aile büyüklüğü ve işletme geliri değişkenleri ile gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak önemli bir farklılığın olduğu saptanmıştır. Genç çiftçilerin tarımsal faaliyet dışı iş teklifi alırsam çiftçiliği bırakırım, tarım sektörü gençler için hala önemli bir istihdam alanıdır, genç çiftçilere yönelik tarımsal destekler gençler için önemli bir motivasyon kaynağıdır ve genç çiftçilerin sosyo- ekonomik koşullarının iyileştirilmesi gençlerin köyde kalma ve çiftçilik yapma eğilimlerini artırır, faktörleri çiftçilik yapma eğilimlerini etkileyen ana faktörler olarak belirlenmiştir. Genç çiftçilerin çiftçilik yapma eğilimlerini etkileyen bu faktörler ile gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak önemli bir farklılığın olduğu saptanmıştır. Özgünlük/değer: Genç çiftçilerin çiftçilik özellikleri ve çiftçilik yapma eğilimleri belirlenmiştir.
Purpose: This study was conducted with the aim of determining the agricultural characteristics and trends of young farmers in the province of Isparta in agricultural activity. Design/methodology/approximation: The main material of the study was obtained by the face-to-face survey of 110 young farmers between the ages of 18 and 40. The data was analyzed in two groups: young farmers (40 farmers) and young farmers (70 farmers) who only produce vegetables. The Ki-core test was used to analyze the differences between groups. Results: Analysis results showed that young farmers have found a statistically significant difference between the place where they reside (the village, the district center and the district center), the family size of the farmers and the business income variables and the groups. If young farmers receive job offers, I leave farming, the agricultural sector is still an important employment area for young farmers, the agricultural support for young farmers is an important source of motivation for young farmers, and the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of young farmers increases the tendency of young farmers to stay in the countryside and farm, the factors are defined as the main factors affecting the tendency to farm. These factors affecting the tendencies of young farmers to farm have been found to have a statistically significant difference between the groups. Originality/Value: The agricultural characteristics and trends of young farmers are determined.
Aim: The study was carried out with the aim of determining the farming attributes of young farmers and their tendencies of engagement in farming in Isparta province. Design/methodology/approach: The main material of the study was obtained by using a face to face survey with 110 young farmers between 18-40 years of age. Collected data were divided into two groups and analyzed: group 1, young farmers that livestock and crop production (40 farmers) and group 2, young farmers that only crop production (70 farmers). Chi-square test was used to analyze differences between groups depending on the normality of the data. Findings: The analyze results showed that statistically significant differences between these two groups with respect to the place of farmer's residence (village, district center and provincial center), farmer's family size and farm income. The main factors affecting young farmers' tendencies of engagement in farming were found to be: if I get a nonagricultural job offer, I give up farming, agriculture sector is still an important employment area for rural youths, agricultural supports for young farmers are important motivation source, the improvement of rural youths' socio-economic conditions increases the probability of young farmers staying in the village. It was also revealed that the statistically significant differences between these two groups with respect to these factors in terms of their tendencies of engagement in farming. Originality/value: Farming attributes of young farmers and their tendencies of engagement in farming have been determined.
