Abstract:

Since 1879, Sicill-i Ahvâl Registers are an archive source where the biographies of the civil servants are recorded, kept by the Sicill-i Ahval commission, which carries out the registry procedures of the Ottoman civil servants. This study has been prepared on the basis of the aforementioned source. As far as can be determined, the life and professional career of 25 civil servants born in Develi District are discussed. So Information such as the civil servants' father's names, their father's occupation, family name, birth dates, the schools they studied, the languages they know and the level of their knowledge of these languages, the fields they worked in, the age of starting their civil service, their duties, and their salaries were determined.
