After the First World War, the League of Nations was set up to bring the peace to the world but it did not give the expected results and the second world war burst out, which ended with many devastating results. France and England which did not want to change thestatus quo they established after the First World War saw themselves as democratic countries and charged revisionist states with violating peace. In the end, the Second World War burst out and everybody had many agonizing experiences. Even other than the countries at war, the whole world had the fear of famine and war. Under these conditions, some countries led to establishing the United Nations in order to keep peace. But the other nations showed reaction to these winner countries because they gave themselves the right to veto. Later during the cold war, these extra rights were used-even misused- by these countries in order to reach their aims. Although there were many situations that threatened the peace, these powers were not effective enough to intervene. Moreover, this institution did not go beyond what these powers determined for it. As a result, it fell far behind the first aims which were determined for it at the beginning. Then, many other countries offered to change its structure. But the prevailing states just ignored these offers. But it gave the result of questioning its very nature by the other member countries. The future of this institution strictly depends on the reforms that should have been done up to now but there seems no hope for it
