Abstract:

This study includes the study of the six book designs in which the graphic designer has participated as a co-author in postmodern period book design. The main impulse to gather these books separated from each other as period and content in the same category is the responsibility of the graphic designer not only to read and make the content given to him visible, but also the privilege of having a speech and a commentary on that content. The name of this privilege is "mullive designer". This understanding that the writer and the designer work together in equal position and create the book object, especially in the postmodern design concept after 1970, comes to us with the designers’ declaration of individual freedom. In Europe, the modernist design standards began to be slowly abandoned and with the advancement of technology the forms of production became more democratic and easy to reach, and even beyond all this, the universalization of the design has recognized the possibility for the designer to be individual. The examples included in the research, in the period of publication, brought sound in the context of co-writing, with its design separated from the mainstream books and gave a new breath to the understanding of the book design.
