Schneiderian papillomas are rare benign tumors that arise from the surface epithelium that lines the paranasal sinuses and nasal cavity. Histomorphologically they are classified into 3 groups; inverted, fungiform and oncocytic schneiderian papillomas. Of these three, oncocytic schneiderian papilloma is the rarest and has a high malignancy potential. A 63-year-old man applied to our clinic with a 6 months complaint of unilateral nasal obstruction. ENT examination revealed a pinkish fragile polypoid mass which was arising from the middle meatus and obstructing the nasal airway. Paranasal sinus tomography revealed soft tissue mass which was filled the left maxillary sinus, nasal airway, ethmoid cells and formed remodelling and expansile changes in the bones. Transnasal endoscopic surgery was performed and the mass was excised totally. Histopathologic examination revealed oncocytic schneiderian papilloma. No recurrence was determined throughout the one year follow up. This article discusses the oncocytic schneiderian papilloma case along with the relevant literature.
