Yer adları; coğrafi bir bölgeye ait olan kültür, tarih, gelenek ve görenek gibi birçok alanı kendi içerisinde muhafaza eden bir hafızadır. Milletlerin yaşadığı yerler, aynı zamanda o milletin kültürünü, tarihini, yaşanmışlıklarını, ekonomisini, inançlarını bir ayna gibi yansıtır. Dil; söz konusu bu alanlardan bağımsız olmayıp onları kendi belleğinde harmanlayarak gelecek nesillere aktarır. Yer adları ise dilin süreç içindeki bu devinimiyle kendini var eder. Dolayısıyla bir yer adı, orada yaşayan insanların kültürel birikimlerinden izler taşıyan bir dil malzemesidir. Bu malzeme aynı zamanda dilcilik noktasında araştırmacılara bir çalışma sahası oluşturmaktadır. Türkiye; coğrafi konum itibariyle birçok medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmış olup kültürel çeşitliliğin oldukça fazla olduğu bir ülkedir. Dolayısıyla her bir il, ilçe, köy, mahalle adı, var olan kültürü gelecek kuşaklara aktaran bir miras görevini üstlenir. Çalışmada tarama, tespit ve tasnif yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sınırlarını Adıyaman ilinin merkez köylerinin semantik ve morfolojik açıdan incelenmesi teşkil etmektedir. 135 adet köy tespit edilmiş olup anlamlarına göre 13 başlık altında gruplandırılmıştır. Başlıklara ayrılan köy adları, morfolojik bakımdan analiz edilmiştir. 135 köy içerisindeki başlıklar ve morfolojik dağılım oranları sonuç bölümünde tablo biçiminde gösterilmiştir. Sayısal veriler sonucunda ulaşılan çıkarımlar ve değerlendirmeler ise sonuç bölümünde aktarılmıştır.
The land names are a memory that preserves many areas in itself, such as culture, history, traditions and traditions, which belong to a geographical area. The places where the peoples live, also reflect the culture, history, experiences, economies, beliefs of that peoples as a mirror. The language concerned is not independent of these fields and it translates them to the future generations by mixing them in its own memory. The names of the earth exist in the process of the language. Therefore, a place name is a language material that carries traces from the cultural accumulations of the people living there. This material also creates a workplace for researchers at the language point. Turkey is a country where many civilizations have been hosted by its geographical location and there is a great deal of cultural diversity. Therefore, each province, district, village, neighborhood name, a hereditary task that translates the existing culture to the future generations. In the study, screening, detection and identification methods were used. The limits of the study are the study of the central villages of the Province of Namýaman from a semantic and morphological point of view. 135 villages have been identified and according to their meanings are grouped under 13 headlines. The names of the villages assigned to the titles have been analyzed from a morphological point of view. The headlines and morphological distribution rates in 135 villages are shown in the table form in the result section. The results and assessments obtained by the numerical data are transmitted in the result section.
