Abstract:

Kastamonu province, İnebolu district, as well as being a rural settlement that witnessed this historical event by undertaking an important task during the War of Independence, has a unique example of civil architecture with a homogeneity and quality to create a texture. There are traces of past civilizations in the district, but this cultural heritage cannot be properly protected due to increasing tourism and accelerating urbanization. The aim of the study; To discuss the problems and potentials of theİnebolu district, to make suggestions for conservation and re-functioning in the context of sustainable tourism. The study has the characteristics of qualitative research and evaluations were made in line with the data obtained from the field study and regional analyzes carried out in this context. Inebolu has a qualified potential in terms of alternative tourism types, but the tourism infrastructure is insufficient, the material features of the period, the structural features and the cultural features of the buildings have survived to the present day by preserving their originality to a large extent in the traditional texture. It is thought that the qualified tourism potential of Inebolu will contribute positively to the use and preservation of traditional civil architecture examples with an effective and sustainable planning.
