The objective of this research was to analyze the scientific production in the Scopus database of a Peruvian public university. The research was bibliometric and retrospective, where the scientific production of the Enrique Guzmán y Valle National University of Education (UNE) was described through the analysis of documents indexed in Scopus. According to the results, 106 indexed documents were located, being the authors with the most publications Bustamante, A. (24 documents and an H-Index of 7), Morales-Romero, G. (18 documents and an H-Index of 2) and Trinidad-Loli, N. (11 documents and an H-Index of 1). Regarding the characteristics of the documents, it was found that most of the journals in which they were published were foreign, original articles predominated and in English, there was greater participation of researchers with affiliation to the UNE as co-authors and in most research, works did not declare receiving funding. Finally, it was found that more documents were published in the areas of Social Sciences, Business, Administration and Accounting, and Medicine. It was concluded that in recent years the scientific production of the UNE in Scopus has increased significantly, however, it is limited and insufficient compared to the most competitive universities in the country, so it is necessary that the university authorities develop policies institutions that promote the publication of research carried out by the university community in high-impact and indexed scientific journals, preferably in databases such as Scopus.
