Religious Militancy and its Socio-Political Impacts on Pakistan

Abstract:

It is believed that Pakistan was created on religious grounds and religion being an ideological command should lead all socio-cultural and socio-political affairs of the state. This ideological ground however created a strange confusion as inhabitants of Pakistan associated to various sects and each sect demands implementation of their own narrative of faith. Hence, the political house later captured by the Islamic fundamentalists who distorted the entire idea of the creation of Pakistan that laid a cornerstone to religious hatred which later developed into religious militancy. The research study „Religious Militancy and its impacts on Pakistan‟ is an effort to identify “Cause and Effect” and “Means and Ends” relationship for its trickle-down results. The purpose of this research is to discuss all the pros and cons of the policies and presented a way forward by proposing recommendation.
