Abstract:

As the number of people living in cities tends to increase, the city transport becomes difficult. As a result, people use alternative ways for transportation. Taxis, buses, minibuses, private vehicles are in the forefront of today’s transport systems. In the framework of this study, we have been working on alternate systems in the district or urban passenger transport. The results of the studies have been studied the impact of the 12,5 km-long rail public transport system on the transportation of passengers in the city. In the district of Kırıkkale, there are 61,276 registered vehicles used for the purpose of passenger transport within the city. In addition, when people who travel with the city with their private vehicles on the Kırıkkale - Samsun road were taken into account, the number of vehicles and passenger traffic had been significantly increased. As a result of the urban transportation of about 100,000 workers and about 40,000 students every day on the urban connectivity roads that are of importance for the district of Kırıkkale, there has been a need for rail public transportation. In this study, designs, cost analyses and evaluations of the tram (Kaleray) line system that will be used in Kırıkkale city transport systems have been made.
