Abstract:

The need for qualified human resources that the tourism industry can manage the technology and use it in the decision-making process is increasing from day to day. The aim of this study is to identify the technology courses included in the curriculum of the tourism business degree programs in Turkey. In the study, 163 courses included in the curriculum of the 38 tourism business program were identified and the contents were analyzed. Courses are classified in the form of automation systems, information technologies, electronic disciplines and management information systems. The findings were discussed with academics and studied through the content analysis method. The findings of the talks show the limits that affect the variety, number and nature of the technology courses, expectations and recommendations for the programs. This study contributes to the programming process and the work of educating qualified human resources.
