Abstract:

Objective: In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and burnout in health professionals working in a metropolitan municipality. Method: The data of the cross-sectional study were collected between 15 November 2017 and 15 January 2018. The sample of the study consisted of 109 health professionals who agreed to participate in the study at the time of data collection. In the collection of data; “Socio-demographic Information Form”, “Maslach Burnout Scale (MBI)” and “Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale (MIS) were used. Results: According to the findings obtained from the study, it was determined that emotional exhaustion and depersonalization levels, which are the sub-dimensions of MBI, decrease the internal satisfaction, external satisfaction and general satisfaction of health workers, while the personal achievement sub-dimension increases the level of internal satisfaction, external satisfaction and general satisfaction. Conclusion: It has been suggested to make both individual and institutional arrangements that will reduce the burnout of health professionals and increase job satisfaction.
