Abstract:

With the study of psychology, the study of the weaknesses of people as well as the strengths of the people, the state of psychological resilience has gained importance. It is suggested that psychological resistance plays an effective role in the emotions of people and in the interpretation of these emotions in the mind. Therefore, the study of the relationship between psychological resistance and emotional regulation in adolescents aged 15-17 is the main objective of this study. For the collection of research data, the psychological resistance scale (PDÖ) and the emotional regulation scale (DDÖ) were used. The research is planned through all active students who are registered in the Professional High School and Anadolu High Schools located in the province of Bursa. The sample of the study consists of 904 volunteers from the professional and Anadolu high school students. The research finds that adolescent's psychological resistance and emotional regulation skills vary according to socio-demographic variables. Regression analyses found that an increase in emotional regulation skills affects an increase of 14% in their psychological resistance. Furthermore, 22% of the variation in emotional regulation skills is explained by subfactors affecting their psychological resilience.
