Abstract:

Especially among poor women, smoking rates are rising and those smoking addictions are also continuing during pregnancy. According to studies; low education level, migration, poverty, number of pregnancies, gestastional week, situation of planning pregnancy, frequency of prenatal care, situation of smoking of pregnant woman's husband, passive smoking and lack of knowledge about harm of cigarettes are determined as pregnant smoking. Having knowledge about harm of tobacco use is a fundamental right for every pregnant woman. Women are open to learning about preparation to baby and maternal health during pregnancy. For this reason; pregnancy period is the best time for smoking cessation both for pregnant and pregnant's husband with other family members living at home through interaction with each other. Therefore, smoking cessation programs are vital in terms of behavior change and smoking cessation rates among pregnant should be increased with the services to be given.
