Özet Çoğu antİneoplastİk ajanların yaygın yanetkilerinden biri olan oral mukositis kanser kemoterapisindesık metotreksat (MTX)+5florourasil (5FU)*e bağlı olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu karşılaştırmalı klinik çalışmada MTX+5FU kullanımına bağlı olarak gelişen oral muko-sitisin ortaya çıkışını önelemede ağız bakımının etkisi araştırılmıştır. MTX+5FU ile antineoplastik kemotera-pi alan 30 hasta çalışma için seçildi. 15 kişiye kemotera-pi öncesi standart bir ağız bakımı protokolü verilerek, tedavileri sırasında hijyen motivasyonları yapıldı. Geri kalan 15 kişi kontrol grubuydu. Tedavileri sırasında tüm hastalar belirli günlerde kontrol edilerek çeşitli kriterler bazında değerlendirildi, iki grup arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir 1 arkın olup, olmadığı incelendi. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre, ağız bakımı yapan hasta grubunda kontrol grubuna oranla hem objektif, hem de sübjektif oral mukositis indekslerinde ve diğer bulgularda anlamlı bir azalma ve daha kısa süre içerisinde değerlerde düzelme olduğu bulundu. Abstract Oral mucositis, which is a common side-effect of most antineoplastic agents, occur especially due to methotrexate (MTX) + 5fluorouracil (5FU) usage. In this comparative clinical study, effect of oral hygiene on development oj MTX+5FU4nduced oral mucositis was investigated. Tliirty patients undergoing antineoplastic chemotherapy with MTX-5FU combination were icluded to this study. Prior the chemotherapy standart oral hygiene was instructed to 15 to these patients and they were also motivated during the ir therapy. The rest 15 were the control group. On predetermined criteria basis all die patients were followed-up during their therapy. Differences between the results of both groups were evaluated statistically. According to the results, the patients, to whom die oral hygiene was instructed, the objective and subjective oral mucositis indexes and the other local scores reduced significantly, and recovered in a shorter period when compared with the control group. Summary One of the common reactions of most anti-ineoplastic agents, oral mucositis occurs depending on methotrexate (MTX)+5florourasil (5FU)* in cancer chemotherapy. In this comparative clinical study, the effect of oral care was studied in preventing the development of oral muco-situation due to the use of MTX+5FU. With MTX+5FU, 30 patients were selected for study in the antineoplastic chemotherapy-pi area. 15 people were given a standard oral care protocol before chemotherapy-pi, hygiene motivations were made during their treatment. The remaining 15 were the control group. During their treatment, all patients were checked on a specific day and evaluated on the basis of various criteria, and it was studied whether or not there was a statistically meaningful 1 arrow between the two groups. According to the results of the study, the patient group in oral care found a significant decrease in both objective and subjective oral mucositis index and other findings and improvement in the values in a shorter period of time compared to the control group.
