Bu çalışmanın amacı, Covid-19 pandemisinin Türkiye’de faaliyet gösteren ve Borsa İstanbul (BİST)’da işlem gören otomotiv şirketlerinin finansal performansları üzerindeki etkilerinin çok kriterli karar verme teknikleri kullanılarak incelenmesi ve sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, BİST’te yer alan ve Türkiye’nin en büyük yedi otomotiv sanayii şirketinin 2018, 2019, 2020 ve 2021 dönemlerine ait finansal verileri, CRITIC ve MOOSRA yöntemleri ile analiz edilmiştir. Analiz kapsamında finansal performansların ölçülmesinde likidite, mali yapı, kârlılık ve faaliyet etkinlik olmak üzere dört temel kategorideki finansal göstergeler kullanılarak on altı finansal orana göre değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonuçlarına göre pandeminin otomotiv sektöründe yer alan şirketlerin finansal performansları üzerindeki etkileri ortaya konmuştur. Elde edilen bulgulara göre analize tabi tutulan şirketlerin bazıları finansal performanslarını pandemi dönemi boyunca olduğu gibi koruduğu, bazılarının ise dramatik değişiklikler yaşadığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca çalışma kapsamında, ihbu değişkenliklerin sebeplerinin finansal performans ile olan ilişkileri irdelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulguların literatürde yer alan diğer çalışmaları da desteklediği gözlemlenmiştir.
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the financial performance of automotive companies operating in Turkey and traded in Borsa Istanbul (BIST) using multicriteria decision making techniques and evaluate the results. For this purpose, the financial data of Turkey’s seven largest automotive industry companies in the BIST for the periods 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 were analyzed together with the CRITIC and MOOSRA methods. Within the scope of the analysis, financial indicators in four basic categories, namely liquidity, financial structure, profitability and operating efficiency, were used to measure financial performance, and evaluations were made according to sixteen financial ratios. According to the results of the study, the effects of the pandemic on the financial performances of the companies in the automotive sector were revealed. According to the findings, it has been determined that some of the companies analyzed have maintained their financial performance as they were during the pandemic period, while some have experienced dramatic changes. In addition, within the scope of the study, the relationship between the causes of these variability and financial performance has been examined. It has been observed that the obtained findings also support other studies in the literature.
