The Soma basin, which contains important linyit beds in Western Anadolu, and the Miyosen ancient volcanic units, which float around, are divided into three main groups. These are: (i) the low and middle Miyosen ancient Kozak-Yuntdağı volcanoes that provide partial entrance with swimming pool in B, KB and GB and the Bigadiç volcanosedimanter swimming pool in KD, (ii) the Dededağ volcanoes in swimming pool and (iii) the late Miyosen Adilköy volcanoes that cut swimming pool. In this study, the Kozak-Yuntdağı and Dededağ volcanoes and the Adilköy volcanoes have studied the petrographic and geochemical characteristics and discussed the petroleum evolution. Kozak-Yuntdağı volcanoes are composed of medium-high potassium kalk-alkali andezite, latite, dasite, trakidasite and riolite, Dededağı volcanoes are composed of medium potassium kalk-alkali and Adilköy volcanoes are composed of medium potassium kalk-alkali basaltic andezite. All volcanic units offer consumption according to large ion diameter elements such as Rb and Ba for high-value cations such as Nb, Ta and Ti in the trace element diagrams normalized according to the primary mantoya. The main and trace element change diagrams and trace element ratio studied according to the silic content indicate that the Cossacks-Cossacks volcanoes are derived from the Cossacks volcanoes in conjunction with distinctive crystallization and possibly cossacks pollution processes. The geochemical characteristics of late Miyosen Adilköy volcanoes indicate that these volcanic units differ from the volcanic units with main astenospheric origins, such as the Kuvaterner Tower volcanoes, and other late Miyosen volcanoes with astenospheric contribution. In this regard, the asthenospheric contribution, which is believed to have an effect on all basaltic volcanoes in the region from late Miyosen, has not been applicable to the Soma pool and the result is that the volcanism in the pool is derived only from the litospheric mantra throughout Miyosen.
