Bu çalışmanın amacı spor bilimleri fakültesinde öğrenim gören farklı bölümlerdeki öğrencilerin bazı demografik değişkenler ile spor farkındalık düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmak için gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tanımlayıcı betimsel türdeki araştırmanın evrenini, İnönü üniversitesi spor bilimleri fakültesinin beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenliği, antrenörlük eğitimi, spor yöneticiliği ve engellilerde beden eğitimi ve spor eğitimi bölümünde eğitim gören 820 öğrenci oluştururken örneklem grubunu ise çalışmaya gönüllü olarak katılım sağlayan 200 öğrenci sağlamaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak, kişisel bilgi formu ile 2020 yılında Uyar ve Sunay tarafından geliştirilen Spor Farkındalık Ölçeği (SFÖ) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadaki ölçek sorularının Cronbach alfa değeri 0.86 olarak belirlenmiştir. Verilerin analizinde Anova, bağımsız gruplarda t testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Anlamlılık düzeyi p<0.05 olarak kabul edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin, %49.5’i 21 yaş, %65.0’i erkek, %39’u Spor Yöneticiliği bölümünde öğrenim görmektedir. %65’i İl Merkezinde ikamet etmekte iken, %70.5’i spor ile ilgi düzeyi anlamında hem katılımcı hem izleyici durumundadır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda cinsiyet değişkeni ile spor farkındalık düzeyi arasında istatistiki açıdan anlamlı bir fark görülmüş olup Yaş, Bölüm, Sınıf, aile gelir düzeyi, ikamet yeri değişkenleri ile spor farkındalık düzeyleri arasında istatistiki yönden herhangi bir anlamlı fark görülmemiştir. Sonuç olarak Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi öğrencilerinin demografik değişkenlerden Cinsiyet değişkeni ile spor farkındalık düzeyi arasında anlamlı bir ilişki görülmüştür. İleri araştırmalara yönelik çalışma daha da genişletilerek ülke geneline yaygınlaştırılması ve spor farkındalık düzeylerinin ne derecede olduğunun ortaya koyulması önerilebilir.
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between some demographic variables and sports awareness levels of students from different departments studying at the faculty of sports sciences. The population of the descriptive research was 820 students studying at the department of physical education and sports teaching, coaching education, sports management and physical education and sports education for the disabled at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of İnönü University; The sample group consists of 200 students who voluntarily participate in the study. Personal information form and Sports Awareness Scale (SFÖ) developed by Uyar and Sunay in 2020 were used as data collection tool. The Cronbach alpha value of the scale questions in the study was determined as 0.86. Anova, independent groups t test and one-way analysis of variance were used in the analysis of the data. Significance level was accepted as p<0.05. 49.5% of the students are 21 years old, 65.0% are male, 39% are studying in the Department of Sports Management. While 65% of them reside in the City Center, 70.5% of them are both participants and spectators in terms of their level of interest in sports. As a result of the analyzes, a statistically significant difference was observed between the gender variable and the level of sports awareness; There was no statistically significant difference between the variables of age, department, class, family income, place of residence and sports awareness levels. As a result, a significant relationship was observed between the demographic variables of the Faculty of Sports Sciences students, Gender variable and the level of sports awareness. It can be suggested that the study for further research should be expanded and disseminated throughout the country and the level of sports awareness should be revealed.
