While the solution to the irregular construction linked to the urbanization process is being sought, on the one hand new towns are continuing to build settlements. In addition, the pandemic process and the effects of irregular and insufficient structural conditions in cities on human health have also been highlighted. When the cities are considered to have a transportation capacity, urban stress is a level that will affect human health on both cities and towns. Although the concept of urban stress is the subject of important research in the world, the concept of urban stress is generally used in our country and is not considered as the concept of urban stress. The stress that city life creates on individuals is generally mentioned and methods such as to get rid of this stress are recommended for individuals to be more in communication with nature, to do sports. In this study, the two different studies in which the concept of urban stress is assessed in the world, assessed where the practices in Istanbul, the most stressful city of Turkey, are at which point according to these assessment dimensions. As a result, as the concept of stress is evaluated in general and not addressed all the factors that lead to stress in the city, urban stress is generally attempted to be eliminated by green space practices. Urban stress should be considered as a concept and the factors that lead to urban stress should be eliminated or reduced by determining the effects of these factors.
As searching for a solution for unplanned settlements in urbanization process, new settlements are being formed for new citizens. Furthermore, the effects of unplanned and inadequate housing conditions on human health came up with the current pandemic situation. Considering the cities have a bearing capacity, urban stress is formed on both cities and citizens that will effect the human health. As urban stress term being an important subject for researches in the world, in Turkey, stress is used as a general term. The general stress formed by the daily urban life on individuals is mentioned and in order to get rid of this stress, suggestions like more communication with nature and doing sports are made. In this paper, it will be reviewed in which dimensions is urban stress is interpreted, through 2 different researches, and how can the practices in Istanbul, the most stressful city of Turkey, be considered within these dimensions. As a result, as the term stress is being considered as a general term, and not all the factors causing urban stress are being evaluated, urban stress is trying to be reduced with green space implementations. Urban stress must be considered as a term and the factors causing urban stress must be determined in order to remove or reduce effects of these factors.
