Abstract:

Education is also a process that can be assessed in the context of individual differences. One of these individual differences is epistemological beliefs. Epistemological beliefs express the views of a person about the acquisition of knowledge and the nature of knowledge. Considering the effects of individual differences in education on the nature of education, the study of epistemological beliefs in education holds an important place. Therefore, in this study, by scanning publications related to education in the domestic and foreign databases, this publication has studied how epistemological beliefs are addressed. In the framework of the study, the master's and doctoral theses, as well as the articles, have been examined. This study, which covers the last 5 years, has a total of 286 different studies examined in terms of various criteria. Research finds that more such studies are done with teachers and teachers candidates. Often, quantum methods are overwhelming in these studies among the most studied variables are gender, epistemological beliefs, age variables. The scale of epistemological belief is often used as a data collection tool, but it has been shown that customized scales for a particular area or class are also attracted to attention. At the highest level of education, the study was highest.
