Abstract:

Ahmet Mithat Efendi does not limit his works to a single geography or a single nation. In the Ottoman geography, the author addresses the people from every section and every nation, putting their lifestyle, cultures, traditions and habits in front of the reader’s eyes. A. Mithat Efendi, in his novel Albanians-Solyots, also recalls Muslim Albanians and Christian Solyots. The wars of these two peoples living in different conditions and belonging to different religions with each other, their heroism in these wars is one of the notable features for Ahmet Mithat. The novel describes how Tepedelenli Ali Pasha tries to take both the Albanians and the Solyots under the rule for his own political power. The events are expressed in a successful way by the writer's historical knowledge. In this work we will discuss the historical and political situation of the Albanians mentioned in the novel and of Albania during that period. In this context, the lives, cultures, successes in wars and traditions and traditions of the people of Albania and Solyot will be focused.
