Okul Çağındaki Göçmen Çocukların Okula Ait Algılarının Resimlerle Karşılaştırılması

Abstract:

Bu araştırmada, Türkiye’ye göç eden farklı etnik kökenli 10-14 yaş arası okula giden 8 ve okula gitmeyen 8 olmak üzere 16 göçmen çocuğun çizimlerindeki okul algıları karşılaştırılmıştır. Okula gitmeyen çocukların tamamı Suriyelidir. Okula gidenlerden biri Mısırlı, biri Yemenli olup diğerleri Suriyelidir. Nitel bir araştırma olan bu araştırmada, betimsel analizden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma, İstanbul’un ilçelerinden Sarıyer, Küçükçekmece, Kağıthane ve Fatih’te gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ortaokul düzeyindeki okula giden göçmen çocukların tamamına Küçükçekmece ilçesindeki bir dernek aracılığıyla ulaşılmıştır. Okula gitmeyen çocuklara ise diğer ilçelerdeki muhtarlıklarda kayıtlı olan göçmen ailelerden ulaşılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak A4 kağıdı ve farklı renklerde boyalar dağıtılıp, her iki gruba ‘Bir Okul Çiz’ yönergesi verilmiştir. Resimler, iki grubun çizdikleri okul binasındaki detaylara, okulun etrafındaki figürlere ve resimler hakkında verdikleri bilgilere göre analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda okula giden çocukların resimlerinde ‘bayrak’ ve okul kurallarına yönelik imgeler görülmüştür. Okula gitmeyenler ise okulu eve, okulun etrafını tanıdıkları objelere benzetmişlerdir. Okula giden çocukların Türkçeyi iyi konuştukları görülmüştür. Okula giden çocuklardan bazılarının kendi ülkelerinin bayraklarını çizdikleri görülmüş ve bu durum uyum sorunu yaşadıklarını düşündürmüştür. Araştırma sonunda okula giden göçmen çocukların, okul algılarının okula gitmeyenlere göre daha gerçekçi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Göçmen çocuklar için okulun ve okula uyumun önemli olduğu da belirlenmiştir.

Comparing the perceptions of school-owned immigrant children in school age with pictures

Abstract:

The study compared the school perceptions in the drawings of 16 immigrant children, including 8 who go to school between 10 and 14 years of age and 8 who don’t go to school. All children who don’t go to school are Syrians. One of them is Egyptian, the other is Yemeni and the other is Syrian. This research, which is a quality research, has been used by visual analysis. The research was carried out in Sarıyer, Küçükçekmece, Kağıthane and Fatih from the districts of Istanbul. All of the children who went to school at the high school level were reached through a association in the district of Littleçekmece. Children who do not go to school have been registered in other districts by immigrant families. As a data collection tool, A4 paper and paintings in different colors were distributed, and both groups were given the 'A School Chart' guidelines. The pictures were analyzed based on the details in the school building they draw, the figures around the school and the information they gave about the pictures. The analysis resulted in the pictures of the children who went to school saw images of the 'flag' and the school rules. Those who don’t go to school are like the school home, the school surroundings are similar to the objects they know. The kids who go to school speak Turkish very well. Some of the children who went to school saw they drawn their own country flags and this situation suggested that they had a problem of adaptation. The study found that immigrant children who go to school were more realistic than those who did not go to school. It has also been determined that the school and school adaptation is important for immigrant children.

In this study, the perceptions of towards the school in the drawings of 16 immigrant children in Turkey from different ethnic origins were compared who are between the ages of 10-14 and 8 of whom are attending school and 8 of whom are not attending school. All children who do not attend the school are Syrian. One of the children attending the school is Egyptian, one is Yemeni and the others are Syrian. Descriptive analysis was used in this qualitative research. The research was carried out in Sarıyer, Küçükçekmece, Kağıthane and Fatih, which are the districts of Istanbul. All of the migrant children who went to secondary school were reached through an association in Küçükçekmece district. Children from migrant families registered with headman’s office in other diztricts, who did not g oto school, were reached. A4 papers and paints in different colors were distributed as data collection tools and both groups were given the 'Draw a School' instruction. The pictures were analyzed according to the details of the school building drawn by the two groups, the figures around the school and the information given about the pictures. As a result of the analysis, images of 'flag' and school rules were seen in the pictures of the children who attend the school. Children who do not attend the school likened the school to the home, and the surroundings of the school to objects they know. It has been observed that the children who attend the school speak Turkish well. Some children who attend the school drawing the flags of their own countries made us think that they have adaptation problems. At the end of the study, it was determined that the school perceptions of immigrant children who went to school were more realistic than those who did not go to school. It was determined that school and adaptation to school are important for immigrant children.
