Abstract:

Introduction: This study aims to study the effects of adapted physical activity (UFA) program applied by mothers with a child with autism spectrum disorder (OSB) on the quality of life of mothers. Method: In the research designed in the karma model participated 24 mothers with a child with OSB (application group = 12, control group = 12). The UFA program was conducted for 12 weeks along with the mothers and their children who are in the application group. Before the UFA program, family education sessions were held for three days in order for mothers to gain the skills to apply the activities included in the program. The study’s quantitative data was obtained through the Beach Center Family Life Quality Scale, while the quality data was obtained using a semi-configured conversation form. The findings: The findings have shown that the quality of life of mothers has significant differences in the positive direction between the UFA program before and after. The monitoring test, which was achieved three weeks after the study, found that the positive change observed in the quality of life of mothers after the UFA program continued. Debate: As a result, it has been found that the UFA program applied by mothers has a positive impact on the quality of life of the mothers who participated in the study.
