15. yüzyıldan 20. yüzyıla dek Doğu Türklüğünün konuşma ve yazı dili olarak kullanılan Çağatay Türkçesi üzerine bugüne kadar pek çok çalışma yapılmıştır. Ancak bu çalışmalar arasında Çağatay Türkçesinin söz dizimine dair yapılan çalışmalar oldukça azdır.“Çağatay Türkçesinde Söz Dizimi (Uygur Harfleriyle Yazılmış Çağatayca Seyfü’l Mülûk Hikâyesi, Mecâlisü’n-Nefâyis ve Tezkire-i Evliyâ’nın Çağatay Türkçesi Çevirisi Örneğinde)” başlıklı bu çalışma Çağatay Türkçesinin dil özelliklerini yansıtan üç eseri karşılaştırarak, dönemin söz dizimsel özelliklerini saptamak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla birlikte Türk dilinin zengin edebî eserleriyle dolu ve Özbekçenin temel taşı olan Çağatay Türkçesinin söz dizimine dair yorumlamalarda bulunarak; yapılacak olan diğer çalışmalara söz dizimsel bakımdan destek olmak ve Çağatay Türkçesine farklı bakış açıları kazandırmak esastır. Elbette ki asırlarca etkisini göstermiş, İslamî Orta Asya Türk Edebiyatının üçüncü evresi olarak kabul edilen Çağatay edebiyatına ait eserler, incelemiş olduğumuz üç eserle sınırlı değildir. Ancak seçtiğimiz bu üç eser Çağatay Türkçesinin farklı dönemlerinde yazılan ve farklı dil özellikleri içeren eserlerdir. Çalışmamızın yöntemini belirlerken Leyla Karahan’ın “Türkçede Söz Dizimi” adlı eseri esas alınmıştır. Bu çalışma ile Çağatay Türkçesine farklı açıdan yaklaşılarak, bundan sonraki yapılacak farklı söz dizimsel çalışmalara yol açmak en büyük gayemizdir.

When determining the method of our work, Leyla Karahan's work "Turkish Word Diary" was based. With this work approaching the Çağatay Turkish from different points of view, the next will lead to different word series work is our greatest goal.
