Abstract:

Objective: In this study, it was aimed to make the validity and reliability of the Medical Device Related Pressure Injury Information Scale (TCIBY) in Turkish. Material and Method: The study was conducted in a methodological type. In March and May 2023, the study was conducted with 255 nurses working in a university hospital who met the contain criteria. The data were obtained by ”Descriptive Information Form“ and ”Medical Device Related Pressure Injury Questionnaire". While the validity of the scale is tested by language validity, scope validity, and structure validity; the reliability of the data was analyzed using Cronbach alpha coefficient, item-total score correlation, and test-retest SPPS for Windows 25.0 (Statistical Package for Social Science), and 22.0 AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structures) statistical package program. Results: The Scope Validity Index (SCI) of the scale was obtained to be 0.92. The Kaiser- Meyer-Olkin score calculated for the Factor Analysis was found to be 0.779; Bartlett's score x²=1225.011, p<0.00. The Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) fit indices of the scale consisting of five sub-dimensions with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) were determined as x2= 1.84; RMSEA= 0.05; CFI= 0.91; GFI= 0.92; AGFI= 0.90; RFI= 0.89. The total Cronbach alpha coefficient of the scale was found to be 0.798 and the test-retest score was 0.94. Conclusion: It has been determined that the Turkish version of the MDRPI Information Scale is a valid and reliable tool. This scale can be used by nurses and academics to evaluate nurses' knowledge about medical device-related pressure injury.
