Bu çalışma, 1984-2016 dönemi için dış ticaret ve cari işlemler dengesinin iktisadi büyüme üzerindeki etkisini incelemek amacıyla kaleme alınmıştır. Söz konusu dönem için uygulanan en küçük kareler yöntemi ve regresyon analizi sonucunda hem dış ticaret dengesinin hem de cari işlemler dengesinin büyüme oranı üzerinde negatif etkiye sahip olduğu ortaya konulmuştur. En küçük kareler yöntemine göre; büyümedeki değişimlerin %31’i cari işlemler dengesi tarafından açıklanırken, %39’u dış ticaret dengesi tarafından açıklanmaktadır. Ekonomik ve sosyal olayların etkisini ölçmek için oluşturulan kukla değişken eklenmiş modele göre; büyümedeki değişimlerin %43’ü cari işlemler dengesi tarafından açıklanırken, %50’si dış ticaret dengesi tarafından açıklanmaktadır. Çalışmada üç model kurulmuştur. Ekonomik ve sosyal olayların etkisini ölçmek için kukla değişken eklenerek dördüncü model oluşturulmuştur. Cari işlemler fazlası veya daha düşük cari işlemler açığı ile sürdürülebilir büyümenin sağlanması için yurtiçi tasarrufların artırılması gerekmektedir.
This study was drawn up for the purpose of studying the impact of foreign trade and trade balance on economic growth for the period 1984-2016. The small-quarters method and regression analysis found that both the balance of foreign trade and the balance of currency transactions had a negative impact on the growth rate. According to the smallest quarters method, 31% of growth changes are explained by the balance of currency transactions, while 39% are explained by the balance of foreign trade. According to the variable added model created to measure the impact of economic and social events; 43% of growth changes are explained by the balance of trade, while 50% are explained by the balance of foreign trade. Three models were created in the study. The fourth model was created by adding a doll variable to measure the impact of economic and social events. Local savings need to be increased in order to ensure sustainable growth with the excess or lower gap in search transactions.
The study aims to examine the effects of foreign trade and current account balance on economic growth for 1984-2016 period. As a result of the least squares method and regression analysis for the period, it is determined that both foreign trade and current account balance have negative effects on the growth rate. According to the least squares method 31% of the changes in growth are explained by current account balance and 39% are explained by the balance of foreign trade. According to the model with dummy variable that is included in order to reveal the impacts of economic and social events while 43% of the changes in growth are explained by current account balance, 50% are explained by foreign trade balance. Three models are estimated in the study. In order to measure the impact of economic and social events, a dummy variable is added, and the fourth model is estimated. In conclusion, it is found that for sustainable growth to be attained with current account surplus or lower current account deficit, domestic savings need to be increased.
