Abstract:

Treatment resistance is an important subject in patients with depressive disorders, and about one-third of these phenomena, despite multiple medication treatments, cannot reach remission. The disturbing sleep apnea syndrome is a common sleep disorder where day-to-day sleepiness, sleep disorders, pain, decreased quality of life, memory problems and irritability are often observed. The diagnosis of sleep apnea syndrome is confirmed by a polysomnographic result. In this article we intend to present a phenomenon with depression symptoms resistant to treatment. When we examined the incident in detail, we observed that it showed symptoms associated with sleeping apnea syndrome and the incident was successfully treated with the treatment of bipolar positive airway pressure (BPAP). We want to emphasize that it is important to keep in mind the sleep-resistant sleep apnea syndrome in treatment-resistant depression.
