Abstract:

Germany has demanded migrants from different countries to meet the workforce gap that emerged after World War II. In accordance with this demand, many men and women from Turkey have migrated to Germany to work. In this context, the doors of a different world were opened to them. Migrants who encounter a different language and a different culture need to express the difficulties they experience within society. They have chosen their way to express what they live. In fact, this is how the first foundations of immigrant literature were put on. The aim of this study is to address Bekir Star's work "Turkish in Germany" and to identify the socio-cultural differences they encounter there, the various problems they encounter, and the factors that cause these problems, explaining the reasons for the first generation of migrants who go to Germany as workers. According to these findings, the study will first refer to the historical process of the Immigrant Letter. After the historical process is discussed, we will focus on the names of the Immigrant Literature in very different names, and then we will be informed about Bekir Star, one of the first authors of the Immigrant Writing. The work of the writer, "Turkish in Germany", who lived in Germany for four years between 1962 and 1966, has been painted with careful observations and critical perspective over the years he was in Germany. The work is also a reflection of the writer’s life. In the study, the work "Turkish in Germany" containing autobiographical elements will be studied with a positive method.

Abstract:

Germany demanded labor migration from different countries in order to meet the emerging labor shortage after the Second World War. In line with this demand also emigrated from Turkey to Germany to work a lot of people. In this context, the doors of a completely different world have been opened for them. Immigrants who faced with a different language and different culture, need to express themselves by writing down the difficulties they faced in society. They chose to express themselves by writing down all that they lived. As a matter of fact, the first foundations of Immigrant Literature were laid in this way. The purpose of this study is to base on Bekir Yıldız's work titled “Türkler Almanya’da”, by explaining the reasons for going abroad for the first generation immigrants who went to Germany as workers; to determine the sociocultural differences they encounter there, the various problems they experience and the factors that cause these problems. In line with these determinations first of all, the historical process of Immigrant Literature will be discussed in the study. After discussing the historical process, various names of Immigrant Literature will be emphasized and then information will be given about Bekir Yıldız, one of the first writers of Immigrant Literature. The work of the author, who also lived as a worker in Germany for four years between 1962 and 1966, was written with his careful observations and a critical point of view during his years in Germany. The book is also a reflection of the author's life. In the study, the work named “Türkler Almanya’da”, which contains autobiographical elements, will be analyzed with a positivist method.
