Abstract:

AIM: To evaluate functional outcomes of zone I and II flexor tendon injıuries that repaired primarily. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Between 1997-1999 twenty patients with injured twenty eight digits who applied to our clinic were included this study. Mean patient age was 28 (19-50) and mean follow up was 19 months (12-27), We started rehabilitation postoperatively. At the first three weeks in the dynamic dorsal plaster splint active extension/passive flexion and with using opposite hand passive extension / flexion exersices were suggested. Then we made patients done active extension and controlled passive / active flexion exersices. RESULTS: Patients were evaluated functionally via Strickland's criteria. So we had 21 satisfactory results (%75), and 7 unsatisfactory results (%25). CONCLUSION: We thought that primer repair and controlled early motion is reliable method for zone I and II flexor tendon injuries.
