Abstract:

Objective: This research was conducted to determine the health information acquisition status of Health School students in the digital environment. Methods: A total of 189 students, including 134 nursing students and 55 occupational health and safety students, were included in the study. “Personal Information Form” and “Obtaining and Verifying Health Information from Digital Media Scale” were used as data collection tools. Results and Conclusion: In our study, in the 19-20 age range, gender is female, married, family type is divided, studying in the nursing department, studying in the 2nd year, spending 3-4 hours a day on the internet, using Twitter social media platform the most, in the pandemic, the situation of searching for health information in the digital environment increased, have a membership in the social media group about health, following social media page about health and are a member of the WhatsApp group about health have a higher score average of the scale of acquiring health information and confirming behaviors in the digital environment. In line with these findings, due to the high efforts of students to acquire health information in the digital environment, it is important and priority to provide appropriate guidance and information in order to ensure that students have access to accurate health information in the digital environment.
