Tarihsel süreç içerisinde, özellikle sanayi devrimi ile birlikte kas gücü yerine buhar makinelerinin kullanımından itibaren sanayi sektöründe sürekli bir değişim ve dönüşüm gerçekleşmiştir. Bu değişim ve dönüşümler, emek ve makine arasında sürekli bir değiş-tokuşa yol açmıştır. Bu çalışmada, yüksek teknoloji sanayi üretim endeksi, imalat sanayi kapasite kullanım oranı ve istihdam oranı arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Ayrıca kontrol değişkeni olarak, Türkiye’nin üretiminde önemli bir role sahip olan döviz kuru kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada ilgili değişkenler ARDL yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. ARDL analizinde, değişkenler arasında hem uzun dönemli hem de kısa dönemli bir ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, yüksek teknoloji sanayi üretim endeksindeki artış istihdam oranını azalmaktadır. İmalat sanayi kapasite kullanım oranı ve döviz kurundaki artışın, istihdam oranını arttırdığı gözlemlenmiştir. Teknolojinin sürekli bir gelişim içerisinde olmasından dolayı yüksek teknoloji sanayi üretim endeksindeki artışın, istihdam oranı üzerinde negatif etkilerinin politika yapıcılar tarafından dikkate alınması önem arz etmektedir.
Throughout the historical process, especially with the Industrial Revolution and the use of steam engines instead of muscle power, there has been a continuous change and transformation in the industrial sector. These changes and transformations have led to a constant exchange between labor and machinery. This study examines the relationship between the high technology industry production index, manufacturing industry capacity utilization rate and employment rate. In addition, as a control variable, the exchange rate, which has an important role in Turkey's production, is used. In this study, relevant variables are analyzed with the ARDL method. In the ARDL analysis, it is determined that there is both a long-term and short-term relationship between the variables. According to the findings, the increase in the high-technology industry production index reduces the employment rate. It is observed that, the increase in the manufacturing industry capacity utilization rate and the exchange rate increases the employment rate. Since technology is in constant development, policymakers need to take into account the negative effects of the increase in the high-technology industrial production index on the employment rate.
