Abstract:

The disasters that have occurred in our country in recent years have caused losses and social impact. Most of our country has been affected by earthquakes that cause many loss of life in various ways. In this case, psychosocial support practices that can support individuals to overcome the psychological effects of the disaster are important. The aim of the study is to shed light on the psychosocial support practices prepared for post-disaster situations and the psychosocial support practices to be developed in this field by examining the studies that address the subject of post-disaster psychosocial support. In order to determine psychosocial support practices and studies prepared for post-disaster situations in line with the stated purpose, Google Academic, YÖK National Thesis Center, PubMed, Researchgate databases from “disaster”, “post-disaster”, “psychosocial support”, “Psychosocial intervention”, “post-disaster psychosocial support”, “post-disaster in Turkey” and the English equivalents of these concepts were searched and 26 studies were reached. Of the studies accessed, 20 are in the domestic literature and 6 are in the foreign literature. As a result of the studies examined, it has been concluded that post-disaster psychosocial support practices and studies are generally prepared for all affected individuals; a limited number of applications and studies are carried out for different levels of society, age groups, professions and employees working in the disaster region. Post-disaster psychosocial support practices may be proposed to be structured by considering the age, occupation, and level of disaster impact in the context of the society.
