Sosyal çalışma disiplininde, sosyolojik bakış açısının değerlendirildiği bu çalışmada, sosyal çalışma-sosyoloji-kuram ilişkisi üzerine sistematik bir değerlendirme yapılmış ve sosyolojinin sosyal çalışmanın bilgi temeline nasıl katkı sunabileceğinin gösterilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılan bu çalışmada, sosyal çalışmada, sosyolojik bakış açısını anlamaya yönelik olarak hazırlanan görüşme formu ile Türkiye’de farklı üniversitelerin sosyal hizmet bölümlerinde eğitim vermekte olan 12 akademisyenin görüşleri alınmış ve bulgular, içerik analizi yöntemiyle yorumlanarak alt temalar oluşturulmuştur. Yapılan görüşmelerin değerlendirilmesi sonucunda sosyolojinin, sosyal çalışma uygulamaları için önemli bir veri sağlayıcısı olduğu sosyal çalışmanın toplumsal değişken, sorun, ihtiyaç ve çözümlere yönelik bakış açısını geliştirdiği ancak sosyal çalışmada kuramların uygulamaya dâhil edilmesinde çeşitli sıkıntılar yaşanmakta olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Bunun yanında sosyolojinin sosyal çalışmaya hizmet eden bir disiplin olmaktan ziyade, sosyal çalışmayla birlikte gelişen bir bilim olduğu ve iki alanın birbirini destekleyerek gelişebileceği noktasına ulaşılmıştır. Bu işbirliğinin gerçekleşmemesi durumunda, sosyal çalışmanın kuram üretememe ve/veya mevcut kuramlardan yararlanamama sorunlarının alanın gelişimini olumsuz şekilde etkileyebileceği öngörüsü ortaya çıkmıştır.
In the discipline of social work, this study, where the sociological perspective is evaluated, a systematic assessment of the social work-socialology-curam relationship has been made and the aim is to show how sociology can contribute to the knowledge base of social work. The research method used in this study, in social study, with the discussion form prepared to understand the sociological perspective, the opinions of 12 academics who are training in the social services departments of different universities in Turkey were taken and the findings, interpreted by the method of content analysis, the sub-themes were created. As a result of the evaluation of the discussions, it was understood that sociology is an important data provider for social work practices; that social work develops a view of social variables, problems, needs and solutions; but in social work there are various difficulties in the application of theories. Instead of being a discipline that serves social work, sociology is a science that develops along with social work and the two fields can develop by supporting each other. If this cooperation does not occur, it has been predicted that the problems of social work that cannot produce theory and/or cannot take advantage of existing theories may have a negative impact on the development of the area.
In this study, which aims to evaluate the sociological perspective in social work discipline, a systematic evaluation of the relationship between social work-sociology-theory has been established and thus, making a contribution to the knowledge base of social work was intented. In this study, which is prepared by using qualitative research methods, an interview form designed to understand sociological perspective in social work has been applied to 12 academics who lecture in social work departments of different universities in Turkey. The findings of these interviews have been interpreted by content analysis method and sub-themes were created. According to the evaluation of interviews, sociology appeared to be an important data provider for social work practices. Sociology improves the social work’s perspective on social variables, problems, needs and possible solutions. However, it is understood that there are various problems in the application of sociological theories into social work practice. Besides that, it has been reached that sociology is a science that develops with social work rather than being a discipline that serves social work and that the two fields can develop by supporting each other. In the absence of this cooperation, it is predicted that the problems of inability to produce theory and / or failure to benefit from existing theories may adversely affect the development of the field.
