1970’li yıllarla birlikte gelişen erkeklik çalışmaları, toplumsal cinsiyet yapılanması içinde gelişen cinsiyetler ve bu cinsiyetlerin toplum içindeki konumlarına dair analizler üretmişlerdir. Erkeklik ve kadınlık değerleri sinema filmlerindeki temsillerle kendine yer edinmektedir ve bu yolla yeniden üretilmeye devam edilmektedir. Toplumsal cinsiyet sisteminin muktedir şekilde konumlandırdığı hegemonik erkeklik değerleri, erkeklerin kadınlar ve öteki erkekler arasında hiyerarşi ve eşitsizlik üretmesine neden olmakta ve bu eşitsizlik toplumsal kurumlar aracılığıyla da yeniden üretilmektedir. Böylelikle toplum içerisinde cinsiyetler arasında eşitsizlik sürmektedir. Bu makalenin amacı, toplumsal cinsiyet sisteminin erkekler için ayırdığı konumu ve bu konuma erişmekte yardımcı olan unsurları belirterek bunların sinemadaki temsil ediliş şekillerini saptamak ve bununla birlikte bireylerin bedenleri üzerindeki iktidar tahakkümünü tartışmaktır. Bu doğrultuda Stanley Kubrick’in 1987 yapımı Full Metal Jacket filmi ele alınacaktır.
The development of male studies in the 1970s have produced analysis of gender developments in the social gender formation and the positions of these gender in society. Men’s and female values take place with representations in film films and continue to be produced again. The hegemonic masculinity values that the social gender system puts in a powerful position cause men to produce hierarchy and inequality between women and other men, and this inequality is re-produced through social institutions. There is an inequality between the sexes in society. The purpose of this article is to identify the position that the social gender system distinguishes for men and the elements that help to reach this position, and to identify the forms of their representation in the cinema, and at the same time to discuss the domination of individuals over their bodies. This is Stanley Kubrick's 1987 film Full Metal Jacket.
