Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the somatotypical characteristics of air-shooters. The study included the elite shooter volunteer with an average age of 16.4 ± 2.8 women (n=13) and an average age of 15.8 ± 1.0 men (n=12) who competed in the shooting sports club in the province of Ankara. The body weight, size length, body mass index, body fat percentage and somatotype characteristics of the shooters are calculated by the arithmetic average and standard deviation values. The differences between the groups were analyzed by the Mann-Whitney U test, one of the non-parametric analysis methods. According to the research findings in women and men respectively; body fat index 22 ± 2.6 and 21.8 ± 2.5, body fat percentage 27.6 ± 3.1 and 18.2 ± 4.2, somatotype values 4.3-4.2-2.3 and 3.0-4.8-3. 1 is identified. Additionally, statistically significant differences in body weight, length, body fat percentage and endomorphic values between female and male shooters have been detected (p<0.05). As a result, it can be said that men's heated shooters have balanced mesomorphs, while women's athletes have mezo-endomorf somatotypical characteristics.
