Yabancı dil eğitimi alanındaki çalışmalar son yıllarda yoğunluk kazanmıştır. Bu çalışmalar dil öğretim yöntemlerinde farklı tekniklerin ortaya çıkmasını sağlamıştır. Bu bağlamda dil öğretim yöntemleri zamanla değişime uğramıştır. Geleneksel, öğretmen merkezli yöntemler yerini çağdaş, öğrenci merkezli yöntemlere bırakmıştır. Bu yöntemlerden birisi de Lozanov yöntemi olarak bilinen Suggestopedia (telkin yöntemi)dir. Çalışmada, yabancı dil öğretimi alanında hızlı ve etkili bir yöntem olarak karşımıza çıkan, birçok ülkede ilgi çeken ve kullanılan telkin yöntemi ele alınmıştır. Bulgar psikoterapist Georgi Lozanov tarafından geliştirilen Suggestopedia (telkin yöntemi) pek çok alanda kendine yer bulurken genellikle yabancı dil öğretiminde kullanılmaktadır. Telkin yöntemine göre öğrenci öğrenmeye zihninde birçok engelle gelmektedir. Öğrencilerin öğrenmeye karşı oluşturdukları bu engellerden telkin yöntemiyle kurtulmaları hedeflenmektedir. Yöntemin içerdiği belli tekniklerle ve telkinlerle öğrencilerin öğrenmeye karşı engellerinden kurtulmaları sağlanmaktadır. Telkin yöntemi kullanılarak dil öğretimi yapılan bir sınıftaki öğrencilerin, geleneksel yöntem kullanılarak dil öğretimi yapılan bir sınıftaki öğrencilere göre dili daha hızlı öğrendikleri Lozanov tarafından iddia edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada telkin yönteminin ne olduğu, özellikleri, öğretim sürecinde nasıl kullanıldığı, yöntem kullanılırken öğretmen ve öğrenciye düşen görevler, yönteme ilişkin eleştirirler ve Türkçenin yabancı dil olarak öğretiminde nasıl kullandığıyla ilgili bilgi vermek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma belgesel tarama modeliyle tasarlanmış ve veriler doküman incelemesi yoluyla toplanmıştır. Makalede telkin yönteminin yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretimindeki yerine, uygulanma aşamalarına, ortaya çıkışı ve kurucusu hakkında bilgiler verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Böylece telkin yöntemi hakkında bilgi sahibi olmak isteyenlerin genel bir bilgi sahibi olmaları hedeflenmektedir.
Studies in foreign language education have gained intensity in recent years. These studies have made it possible for different techniques to appear in language teaching methods. In this context, language teaching methods have changed over time. Traditional, teaching-centered methods have replaced the contemporary, student-centered methods. One of these methods is the Suggestopedia, known as the Lozanov method. The study discussed the telkin method that appears to us as a fast and effective method in the field of foreign language teaching, which is interesting and used in many countries. Suggestopedia, developed by Bulgarian psychotherapist Georgi Lozanov, is commonly used in the teaching of foreign languages, whereas it is found in many fields. According to the telkin method, a student has many obstacles in his mind to learn. It is intended for students to get rid of these obstacles that they create against learning by telkin method. The method contains certain techniques and telkines to ensure that students get rid of the obstacles against learning. Lozanov has claimed that students in a class that teaches language using the telkin method learn language faster than students in a class that teaches language using the traditional method. This study aims to provide information about what the telkin method is, its characteristics, how it is used in the teaching process, the tasks of the teacher and student when using the method, the criticism of the method and how Turkish is used in teaching as a foreign language. The work is designed with a documentary scan model and the data is collected through document review. In the article, the method of telkin as a foreign language in the teaching of Turkish was tried to provide information about the implementation stages, appearance and founder. Thus, those who want to know about the method of telkin are intended to have a general knowledge.
