Özet:

The purpose of this research is to determine their attitudes towards the teaching profession according to the perceptions of the teacher candidates. This research is in the form of a scan model aimed at determining their attitudes towards the teaching profession according to the perceptions of the teacher candidates. The sample of the study consists of a total of 489 students who continue their studies at the Faculty of Education of the University of Hacettepe. In the study, according to the perceptions of teachers candidates, the "Teacher's Perspective Attitude Scale" developed by Tanel, Shengören and Tanel (2007) in order to determine their attitudes towards the teaching profession. The measurement tool used in the study, in the course of the 2019-2020 academic year, the data was collected by applying to the teacher candidates by the researcher in the form of the necessary preliminary explanation. The perceptions of attitude towards the teaching profession have been shown to be at the "unestability" level. There was a significant difference between the behavior of the teaching profession according to the class variable. The perceptions of attitude towards the teaching profession have not shown significant differences according to the variables of gender, place and economic situation in which they grow. In order to ensure that the attitude towards the teaching profession is positive, a more conscious choice of the teaching profession can be provided with an effective guidance.

The purpose of this study is to determine the attitudes of pre-service teachers towards the teaching profession according to their perceptions. This research is in the form of a cross-sectional survey model aiming to determine the attitudes of pre-service teachers towards the teaching profession according to their perceptions. The sample of the study consists of 489 students who continue their education in the Faculty of Education at Hacettepe University. In the study, “Perspective attitude scale towards the teaching profession” developed by Tanel, Şengören and Tanel (2007) was used to determine the attitudes of teacher candidates towards the teaching profession according to their perceptions. The measurement tool used in the study was applied to the teacher candidates in March 2019-2020 academic year by the researcher, and the data were collected. It has been observed that the perceptions about the attitude towards the teaching profession are at the level of “indecisive”. It was found that there is a significant difference between the perceptions about attitude towards the teaching profession according to the class variable. The perceptions about the attitude towards the teaching profession did not differ significantly according to the variables of gender, place of education and economic situation. In order to ensure a positive attitude towards the teaching profession, an effective guidance will be helpful in enabling those to choose the teaching profession more consciously.
