Introduction: Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH) and Diabetes Mellitus (DM) are Chronic non-communicable diseases with high prevalence. Increase in the level of physical activity (LPA), assists in the prevention and control of these diseases. Objective: Analyze and compare the LPA of middle-aged and elderly individuals, hypertensive and/or diabetic of users in the public health unity. Materials and Methods: 56 individuals participated with SAH and/or DM users of health unity of the municipality of Saltinho-SP, divided Group 1 middle-aged with mean age of 52.36 years, and Group 2 elderly with mean age of 66.21 years. For the evaluation of the PA level it was applied, through an interview, the International Physical Activity Questionary - IPAQ, short version. Compared data of body mass, stature, body mass index, and total of METs/minutes/week, used for parametric variables Student’s t-test and non-parametric variables Mann-Whitney test, p< 0,05. Results and Discussion: There were no significant differences in anthropometric variables between groups. METs min/week in Group 1 was higher than in Group 2. Classification of the LPA individuals of middle-aged 57% active or very active, and 43% of the individuals sedentary or irregularly active, being considered active insufficiently, in the elderly, 82% sedentary or irregularly active (active insufficiently) and 18% active or very active. Conclusion: Individuals of middle-aged values prevailed of LPA than elderly but been high percentage of active insufficiently in both groups, necessity of programs of PA for the users of Health units with SAH and/or DM, form the middle-aged and elderly.
