Covid-19 Döneminde Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Oyun Bağımlılığı, Kişilik Özellikleri Ve Stresle Başaçıkma Tarzları Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Araştırmanın amacı, COVID-19 döneminde üniversite öğrencilerinin oyun bağımlılığı, kişilik özellikleri ve stresle başaçıkma tarzları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırma nicel araştırma desenlerinden ilişkisel tarama desenine göre yürütülmüştür. Araştırma çeşitli devlet üniversitelerinde farklı fakülte, bölüm ve sınıflarda öğrenim görmekte olan 277’si (%69.6) kadın, 121’i (%30.4) erkek olmak üzere 398 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Araştırma verilerinin elde edilmesinde kullanılan veri toplama araçları; Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Oyun Bağımlılığı Ölçeği, Beş Faktör Kişilik Ölçeği ve Stresle Başaçıkma Tarzları Ölçeğidir. Araştırmada bağımlı ve bağımsız değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla Pearson momentler çarpımı korelasyon tekniği kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca kişilik özellikleri ve stresle başaçıkma tarzlarının oyun bağımlılığını yordama gücü çoklu regresyon analizi kullanılarak test edilmiştir. Yapılan korelasyon analizi sonuçlarına göre üniversite öğrencilerinin; oyun bağımlılığı ile kişilik özellikleri arasında ve oyun bağımlılığı ile stresle başaçıkma tarzları arasında anlamlı düzeyde negatif bir ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca kişilik özellikleri ile stresle başaçıkma tarzları arasında ise anlamlı düzeyde pozitif bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Regresyon analizi sonuçlarına göre, kişilik özellikleri ve stresle başaçıkma tarzları üniversite öğrencilerinin oyun bağımlılığı düzeylerini anlamlı bir şekilde yordamaktadır. Elde edilen bulgular, kişilik özellikleri ile stresle başaçıkma tarzlarının oyun bağımlığının önemli yordayıcıları olduğunun bir göstergesidir. Sonuç olarak; stresle başa çıkma tarzları ve kişilik özellikleri puanı yüksek olan bireylerin oyun bağımlılığı ölçeğinden aldıkları puanlar düşmektedir.

The purpose of the study is to study the relationship between college students' game addiction, personality characteristics and stress management styles during the COVID-19 period. The research was carried out according to the relative scan pattern of quantum research patterns. The study consists of 398 students, including 277 (69.6%) women, and 121 (30.4%) men, who are studying in different faculty, departments and classes at various public universities. The data collection tools used in the obtaining of research data are: Personal Information Form, Game Addiction Scale, Five Factor Personality Scale, and Stress Combating Methods Scale. The study used the Pearson moment interrelation correlation technique to study the relationship between dependent and independent variables. The personality characteristics and the ability to overcome the game dependency of the stress styles have also been tested using multiple regression analysis. According to the correlation analysis, university students have a significantly negative relationship between game addiction and personality characteristics, and between game addiction and stress behavior. There is also a positive relationship between personality characteristics and the ways of coping with stress. According to the results of the Regression analysis, personality characteristics and stress management styles significantly treat the levels of gaming addiction of university students. The findings are an indicator of personality characteristics and stress management styles that are important contributors to game dependency. As a result, the scores that individuals with high scores of stress and personality characteristics get from the scale of gambling addiction are reduced.

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between university students' game addiction, personality traits and coping styles with stress during the COVID-19 period. The research was carried out according to the relational screening design, one of the quantitative research designs. The research consists of 398 students, 277 (69.6%) female and 121 (30.4%) male, studying in different faculties, departments and classes at various state universities. Data collection tools used in obtaining research data; The Personal Information Form is the Game Addiction Scale, the Five Factor Personality Scale, and the Stress Coping Styles Scale. Pearson product-moment correlation technique was used in the study to examine the relationship between dependent and independent variables. In addition, the predictive power of personality traits and coping styles on game addiction was tested using multiple regression analysis. According to the results of the correlation analysis, university students; It was determined that there was a significant negative relationship between game addiction and personality traits, and between game addiction and stress coping styles. In addition, a significant positive relationship was found between personality traits and styles of coping with stress. According to the results of the regression analysis, personality traits and styles of coping with stress significantly predict the game addiction levels of university students. Findings indicate that personality traits and styles of coping with stress are important predictors of game addiction. As a result, individuals with high scores on coping with stress and personality traits have lower scores on the game addiction scale.
