Abstract:

In this study, it was aimed to explain the use of noun inflection suffixes together with verbs in Rabgūzī’s Kısasü’l-Enbiyā. One of the most important works of Khorezmian Turkic Language in the middle Turkish period is Kısasü’l-Enbiyā, written by Nāsırü’d-dīn bin Burhānü’d-dīn Rabgūzī. Verbs are derived from the roots and stems of the verb with certain suffixes and are grammatical elements that do not fall into the inflection of the action, studied under the headings gerund, participle, gerundium. Noun inflection suffixes show the various states of nouns contained within the sentence.

In Rabgūzī’s Kısasü’l-Enbiyā, the use of noun inflection suffixes along with verbs was determined. Examples of noun suffixes used with plural, possessive and case suffixes were identified. It has been seen that among the case suffixes, there are examples that are used with the affinity suffix, the loading case suffix, the directional suffix, the present state suffix, the leaving state suffix.

With the verbs, sample sentences determined about the use of noun inflectional suffixes were given and information was given about the use of noun inflectional suffixes. It is known that Khorezmian Turkic Language has a transition period between Karakhanid Turkish and Chagatai. Uses of the identified suffixes in Western Turkish and Eastern Turkish are also shown.
