Özet:

The violent incidents, can be seen in various individual and social dimensions such as intimidation, punishment, suppression, wounding, murdering, and torture, find approppriate environment in sports arenas. Especially the events observed inside and outside of the football fields becoming one of the most important security issues of countries. Despite the enacted laws and increasing penalties, violence in football fields is increasing day after day. Furthermore, the violence caused by the fans, beyond the limits of the country, takes place as a global problem. In this study; primary concern in the matter of sports and violence is football branch where the most data will be focused on. In this context, in the case of Kayserispor-Sivasspor football match which was played on 17 September in 1967 and 40 people werekilled and dozens were wounded, the reached point of the violence in sport in Turkey will be presented. How the violence that started on Football fields has become a social problem, spread in the wave form, and caused hatred between two cities’ people will be tried to be presented. In this study, Kayseri "Ülker" and Sivas "Haber" newspapers news content will be subject to scrutiny which are published in the provinces of Kayseri and Sivas. By considering the hypothesis that violence arises as the expression of the social originated problems, the news reflection patterns of each newspaper and their messages to public opinion will be subject to being resolved
