Abstract:

Hussein Cavid (1882- 1941)'s manzum tragedy called Iblis, though researched in a philosophical perspective, religious inspection was completely missing. However, "Iblis" is a powerful literary work that contains intense religious-philosophical views. His sources from religion, mythology, and world classical literature, Hussein Cavid perfectly processed his character from a religious-philosophical point of view, and he created a Devil with the weight of Lucifer, Demon, Mefistophel, according to his Buddhist power. In our work, in relation to the work of Hussein Cavid, Iblis: Who is Iblis? Where is Iblis? Is it the reason for the people to be overwhelmed by their self and weaknesses? Is it derived from the genetic code of man or is it later obtained from the outside? Is there no way to get rid of Iblis? What is the influence of the criticism of Iblis to people and to God? Who is the responsible for all that is happening? Where is the key to the solution of disasters? Answers to these questions are given in a philosophical way.
