Child and adolescent sexual abuse is defined as the use of a child or an adolescent as an object of gratification for adult sexual needs and desires. There are a variety of negative consequences of sexual abuse for child and adolescents. The possible consequences of sexual abuse are sexualizing effects, emotional effects, depressed mood, anxiety, behavioral effects, personality alterations and other effects. In this article, we reviewed symptoms, findings, possible consequences and prevention in children and adolescents who had sexual abuse.
