Abstract:

Miyastenia Gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disease associated with antibodies, characterized by increased loss of muscle strength with exercise. Although it can develop spontaneously at any age, it is known that the pathogenesis of the disease can be triggered by vaccines, medications, infections and surgical procedures. In the COVID-19 pandemic process that we have been in since the beginning of 2019, SARS-CoV2 infection has also been shown to be able to trigger MG and worsen the existing MG findings. Vaccines developed in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic and MG developing events have been to be rare. In this article, one inactive SARS-CoV2 vaccine (CoronaVac) and the other two MG phenomena triggered by the new technology, the m-RNA vaccine (Comirnaty) were presented and discussed in the literary knowledge. The development of the symptoms of both phenomena in the process after the second dose of SARS-CoV2 vaccines has suggested that these phenomena are related to the vaccine MG. Studies have shown that SARS-CoV2 vaccines have a low risk of triggering MG and that these vaccines are safe in patients with MG. The causal result relationship between SARS-CoV2 vaccines and MG development risk will only become clear with the increase in the number of case reports on this issue.
