Abstract:

Crypto assets that are widely traded along with technological transformation are in a state that destroys economic laws, demands changes in traditional business processes. Crypto assets produced in non-centric systems, where the encryption path is used to ensure security, offer alternatives in the economy. For the first time in Turkey, the regulations for crypto assets have been published in the Official Gazette and information about the accounting size of crypto assets is provided. The aim of this study is to describe the accounting of cryptocurrency asset transactions in the framework of the draft Accounting Plan Appropriate to Financial Reporting Standards, the Turkish Accounting/Financial Reporting Standard (TMS/TFRS), the Financial Reporting Standard for Large and Medium-Sized Enterprises (BOBI FRS), the Accounting System Application General Notice (MSUGT) / Tax Procedure Act (VUK) and the Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Micro Enterprises (KÜMİ FRS) draft. In this context, the creation of default examples of the first registration, evaluation and elimination of cryptocurrency asset transactions has been attempted to contribute to the applicants and literature with comparative statements aimed at the accounting of transactions. Although there are similarities in the first accounting and the financial report, there are differences in terms of the subsequent measurement and share.
