ağırlıklı olarak Arap isyancılara karşı mücadele verilmiştir. Bu cepheler içinde Hicaz cephesi, stratejik önemi yanında kutsal toprakları barındırması yönüyle de önem arz etmektedir. Hicaz bölgesinde Arap isyanının ayak sesleri açıkça duyulsa da Osmanlı yönetimi duymamazlıktan gelmiştir. Mekke Emiri olarak Şerif Hüseyin’in atanması ile başlayan hatalar zinciri, onun İngilizlerle işbirliğine gitmesinden haberdar olunmaması ve zaman içinde diğer kabileleri kendi liderliğinde Osmanlı Devleti’ne karşı kışkırtmasına seyirci kalınmasıyla devam etmiştir. İhanete bu denli müsamahalı davranmak ve sorunu adeta görmemezlikten gelmek Osmanlı Devleti’ne ağır bedeller ödetmiştir. Mekke bölgesinde mevcut kuvvetler parçalanıp çok sayıda garnizon, kışla ve karakola dağıtılınca garnizonlar, kalabalık asi kuvvetlere karşı çaresiz bırakılmış, Medine bölgesinde Fahrettin Paşa elindeki kuvvetleri bir bütün halinde kullanarak Arap isyancılara ardı ardına darbeler indirmiştir. Bununla birlikte Medine Müdafaasının başarıyla yürütülmesi Filistin cephesine katkı sağlamadığı gibi Medine’ye sevk edilen her takviye birliği bir yerde bu cephedeki savunmayı güçleştirmiştir. Makalenin amacı, Hicaz cephesinde ayaklanma öncesi gelişmeler ile ayaklanma çıktıktan sonra yaşanan çatışmaları incelemek suretiyle cepheyi stratejik, operatif ve taktik yönden değerlendirmektir. Çalışma için literatür taraması metodu ve nitel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır.

Во время Первой мировой войны Османская империя войну вела, в основном, против арабских повстанцев на фронтах Хиджаза, Йемена и Асира. Среди этих фронтов Хиджазски фронт, помимо своего стратегического положения, с точки зрения святых земель был наиболее важным. После того, когда существующие военные гарнизонысилы в районе Мекки были реорганизованы в виде постов и отдельных отрядов, военные военные силы отчаялись против переполненных сил повстанцев, а в районе Медины Фахреттин-паша в полностю использовал силы имеющие в своих руках и наносил последовательные удары арабским повстанцам. Однако, успешное выполнение обороны Медины не повлияло на палестинский фронт и каждое подразделение подкрепления, отправленное в Медину, несколько затрудняло оборону на Меккейсском фронте. Несмотря на то, что явно ходили слухи по поводу арабского восстания в районе Хиджаза, османская администрация проигнорировала их. Цепочка ошибок, начавшаяся с назначением Шарифа Хусейна эмиром Мекки, продолжалось бездействием центрального правительства по поводу его сотрудничества с англичанами и призывов других племён против Османской империи. Столь терпимое отношение к предательству и почти игнорирование проблемы заставило Османское государство заплатить высокую цену. Целью статьи является оценка фронта со стратегической, оперативной и тактической точки зрения путем изучения событий до восстания и конфликтов, имевших место после восстания. Для исследования были использованы метод обзора литературы и качественная модель исследования. Ключевые слова: , , , оборона Медины, арабское восстание.
